Who Owns Parler: Who Is Behind The Popular Social Media App?

There is a lot of uncertainty and speculation about who owns Parler? It’s an anonymous app that has become popular for its lack of censorship, most notably by becoming a hub for political discussions. But the most important question on most people’s minds is: who created this app?

In this blog post, we answer some common questions about the app and dive into the history of how it came to be. We also show you how to download Parler and where to find it to join the conversation.

Who Owns Parler?

Parler is a private platform created by Parler Technologies LLC. This company was registered on October 23, 2018, in Nevada. This means that Parler Technologies LLC and the people associated with Parler Technologies LLC are private, and therefore not directly answerable to the public.

However, Parler Technologies LLC was recently bought by Blue Edge Technology LLC, which operates under the name Parler Technologies. And it should be noted that the name Blue Edge is also not directly answerable to the public, but it is a joint pseudonym used by employees of the company.

Similarities Between Parler And Blue Edge Technologies LLC

The similarities between Blue Edge Technologies LLC and Parler Technologies LLC are staggering.

Who created Parler?

The app has been around for at least two years, but a strange announcement by the app’s creator on Reddit last week became a significant source of conversation and speculation. It was titled “Social network seizes admin rights” and seemed to come from an ex-employee of Parler. The post gave a detailed breakdown of how the app was built, including a screenshot of a text conversation between the developer and a Parler “emotional support” staffer, along with specific times of when code was changed, all details that, if proven true, would seem to cast doubt on the ownership of the app.

The post was originally made on the Github page for Parler, which explains that all developers are “based” on the original author (presumably, this is the original developer).

How does it work?

Step 1: Join Parler

The app is a free download on the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Install it

Once you download the app, you’ll need to install it. On iOS, it’s a quick five-step process:

Step 1: Choose if you want the app on your device or in the cloud.

Step 2: Start the installation process.

Step 3: Enter your login credentials, a unique identification number, like a QR code, that we’ll use to unlock the app.

Step 4: Wait for the app to finish installing, and you’ll be logged in.

Step 5: Enjoy the conversations.

How do I join the conversations?

Step 1: Find the groups you want to join.

Step 2: Click into the specific group (typically the last group you were in) and enter your login credentials.

Step 3: Join the conversation.

Why should I download Parler?

While Parler is not entirely anonymous, ignoring the larger trends and political climate surrounding the app and its users is hard. Parler’s absence from major social media platforms is often taken as a signal that the app itself is being censored.

All it takes is a quick search to confirm the rumors. We’re pretty sure you won’t find Parler on FacebookInstagramTwitterGoogle+, or Pinterest. Of course, that doesn’t mean the app is free from all censors. Instead, social media platforms have different rules on what they will and won’t allow.

Meanwhile, the major social media platforms that didn’t block Parler are growing concerned over the app’s popularity.

What Is The Cost To Use Parler?

The cost of using the app is relatively inexpensive. If you pay $9.99 per year or $3.99 per month, you can join the app. At the moment, it seems that the vast majority of people who use the app are paying for the annual subscription.

Who Created Parler?

You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who knows who created Parler, but Parler says that they created Parler themselves and that the app is owned by “People of the World.”

An odd name for a brand, but some answers are plausible. When you look up “People of the World,” you’ll notice that it says that the app was developed by a software company named “AchitasSoft” based out of Spain. The domain name associated with this company (parler.com) was owned by another software company named “Silicon Forest Industries.

Why Parler is important for free speech

Parler is a social media app that allows users to be truly anonymous. Because of the lack of censorship by the developers, users can say almost anything without fearing the consequences. This has been a source of great fascination for app users and other social media platforms and has opened up a new niche for those seeking a space to discuss freely with others in their immediate surroundings.

Why do we need Parler to fight fake news?

It is important to be able to trust the people who share your interests and values. In our current social media world, social media users are being tricked into believing content they disagree with simply because they look similar to what is being spread.

The History of Parler

If you’ve been around the internet for the last three years, you have probably heard about Parler. It has been one of the most popular and powerful political discussion hubs on the internet, and it boasts more than a million active users per month. Parler originated from the Political Square forum on 4chan’s/pol/ board. While the political discussion forum/blog was founded in 2010 and is owned by the liberal-leaning Vinon Media, 4chan founder Chris Poole named it “Parler” in March 2014 about the French capital of Paris. And when he was asked about the name’s meaning, Poole said that he liked the word’s sound and had always liked French words.

A Review of the Company and its CEO

Darnielle Hanway, or Darnielle for short, is the founder and CEO of Parler. On his Linkedin profile, Darnielle lists himself as an audio engineer and composer and the main programmer of Parler. A little digging will show that Darnielle is, at least, the person that started the project. Still, the latest public information available about Darnielle doesn’t look very promising for a guy that calls himself “The Creator” of Parler.

Darnielle Hanway-The Creator: Over four years, I built Parler, the app and website of the same name. The name Parler is the French word for the public, and Parler is a place in which people come to discuss ideas in a very civil, sincere, and good-natured way. This is how Darnielle describes his role in the community of Parler:
